The Accounting Specialist for the Government Contracting Practice is responsible for assisting with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledgers, financial operations, and activities related to our client's health and welfare plans. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with the Controller and senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support our client's benefit plans and the practice's goals and objectives.

Job Purpose / Objective

Reconciles client funds such as disbursements, expenses, and income.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with government regulations and company policies.

Contract Management: Assist in the management of government contracts, including monitoring contract modifications, billing, and compliance with contractual terms.

Cost Accounting: Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, ensuring proper allocation of costs to government contracts in accordance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other relevant guidelines.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for government contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and financial constraints.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with government regulations, including DOL and IRS filings.

Audit Support: Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
